Response to Obama's Speech

On Tuesday January 29, 2014 America watched Barack Obama give his State Of The Union speech. After discussing about Obama's speech with my class, a topic he mentioned about minimum wage stood out to me. Obama wants to increase minimum wage from $7.50 an hour to $10.10 an hour. My class and I discussed how the President also wants to help the lower and middle class families out of poverty. By increasing minimum wage, hard working lower and middle class families can benefit from this proposal. I hope this proposal passes through the Congress because families are struggling making $8 hour, It is not enough to support a family of 4. I can relate to this topic because the work I do from my job does not match up to how much I make. These are some changes we need!
